Terms of Service

Effective July 28, 2026

1. The service

Eustace (“the Service”) is a fact-checking workspace: it extracts factual claims from documents you provide, verifies claims you approve against publicly available sources, and produces reports. The Service is operated from the United States. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.

The Service will evolve — we may add, change, or retire features. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we’ll give notice before it takes effect.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

3. Your content

You retain all rights to the documents, evidence, and other content you upload. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to operate the Service — extracting claims, running verification, and generating your reports. You are responsible for having the rights to the content you upload.

4. Automated verification is assistance, not advice

Verdicts, confidence labels, and summaries are produced by automated systems (large language models and web search) and can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. They are provided to assist your own editorial judgment. They are not legal, medical, financial, or professional advice, and we make no guarantee of the accuracy of any verdict. You remain responsible for what you publish.

5. Plans and billing

The free plan includes a fixed lifetime allowance of claim verifications. Pro is a paid subscription (monthly or annual) with a monthly verification quota and an optional, off-by-default, per-claim overage. If you enable overage, verifications beyond your monthly quota accrue at the per-claim rate and are billed to your payment method as a separate charge shortly after each monthly usage period closes; small balances (under $0.50) are carried forward and charged together with a later period, or waived if your subscription ends first. Payments are processed by RevenueCat and Stripe; we don’t store your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel anytime from the billing page — cancellation stops future renewals, and your Pro access continues through the period you already paid for. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

We may change prices or quotas prospectively; we’ll notify you before a price change affects an active subscription. If a charge looks wrong, contact support@eustace.app before disputing it with your card issuer — we can usually resolve a billing mistake faster than a dispute can.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • upload content that is unlawful or that you lack rights to,
  • attempt to probe, overload, or disrupt the Service or circumvent quotas and rate limits,
  • resell or provide automated third-party access to the Service,
  • use the Service to generate spam or deliberately misleading “verification” artifacts.

Copyright complaints. If you believe content stored on the Service infringes your copyright, email support@eustace.app with enough detail to identify the material and evaluate the claim. We will review it and, where appropriate, remove the material and notify the account holder.

7. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time, and delete your account from Settings once any live subscription is canceled. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create risk for the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., disclaimers, limitations of liability) do.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we’ll give notice (for example, by email or an in-app notice) before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Questions? Contact support@eustace.app. See also our Privacy Policy.
